We're always up for a challenge and even some different requests.  We were recently asked to fill in and do some photography for Jessica VanderEyk as she prepared for her big day.  It was a pretty simple task for us; just get some nice shots of Jessica getting ready and some of the little details.  It's always fun walking into a hotel suite as a bride and her girls are frantically getting ready.  It doesn't take us long for us to become a fly on the wall and capture some wonderful moments.  Here's a few of the images:

We're always looking for ways to make things interesting with our photography.  Sometimes we use different lenses, unique angles, photoshop manipulation, or a combination of those techniques to achieve this.  We always prepare for a shoot by asking ourselves, "What approach and which tools to we need to capture what our client wants?".  Once we've determined that, we then ask ourselves, "How can we see this differently and what elements can we add?".  For this HBO Boxing event at Home Depot Center, we decided to use a combination of wide angle lenses, low angles, and some edgy photoshop work.  These are some of the images:

[ Speak Life ]

Club Life in Hollywood had its grand opening celebration last Friday, and I had the privilege of being a part of the event.  Club Life is a Christ-centered club hosted by King FM Radio and features live performances, dancing, giveaways, and music by DJ Triune.  The event took place at Christian clothing company JIM (Jesus In Me) Unlimted, which is located directly across the street from Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles on Pico Blvd.  King FM put to together a 'red carpet' style photo booth and was nice enough to put the Mora Photography logo on their banner, it was amazing! I even went on the other side of the camera for a couple Red Carpet shots (see below).  If you can make it out either the first or last Friday of each month, stop by Club Life from 8pm-2am for a good time (and you can eat Roscoe's right after):

[ Norman & Adriana Engagement ]

We were excited to get an email from our good friends Norman and Adriana to shoot their wedding and engagement photos. With their wedding coming up in October of this year, they wanted an engagement shoot early enough to send out Save the Date photos to their friends and family. The shoot was a blast. They're both extremely photogenic and Norman gave Derrick Zoolander a run for his money with his version of "Blue Steel" it was hilarious. We also had the chance to try some artsy and creative things on this shoot. Here are some of the shots from our session:

[ Chloe Jolie ]

Posting blogs of children is always a difficult task, because all of the pictures look cute. This was the case with Chloe's photos. We wanted to post them all, but we were able to narrow them down to just 10. Chloe's mom is good friends with Riley's mom (see Riley's photos below) who recommended us.  Part of what made this shoot unique is that Chloe recently celebrated her baptism. In addition to on-location natural light shots, Chloe's parents wanted Mora Photography to capture some studio style photos of Chloe in her baptism gown. One cool thing about the gown is that it was custom made by Chloe's aunt, amazing! Here are some of our favorites from the day:

[ Photo Booth Add-Ons ]

As a gift to her graduating students, our friend Chara Nicole of Open Box Designs hired us snap a few portraits of her Certified Event Planner & Designer class.  Chara wanted each student to have a recent portrait that the graduates could use as they begin to market themselves to prospective clients.  In addition to each portrait, we decided to include a Photo Booth series as a keepsake for each graduate to remember the class & Mora Photography.  Not only have Photo Booths gained popularity at weddings, but they have also become popular at corporate parties, Birthday's, Bah/Bar Mitzvahs, and many other events.  While we don't offer the kind of stand alone booth that you'd see at a carnival or fair, we do offer a simple, small photo set which can do the same thing.  The advantage of this is all the great ways we can customize a Photo Booth.  Stay tuned for more info and details about our new Photo Booth Add-Ons....
